Transit Road Supervisor

James Torres brings a wealth of transit experience to his role, having spent 25 years in various positions that have given him extensive knowledge in operations and administration.


He started his career in 1996 as a mechanic at Citibus and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Street Supervisor within three years. Over the years, he has held several key positions, such as Shop Foreman, Director of Maintenance, Assistant General Manager, Paratransit Director, and General Manager of Tyler Transit.


One of his notable accomplishments includes serving as a Project Manager for a new facility to house the administration and maintenance for Longview Transit, as well as an office for Greyhound. Recently, he has been involved in a route study aimed at improving the operations of Tyler Transit, and he is committed to expanding services to better meet the needs of the community.


Currently, James oversees the management of ETCOG drivers and is leading the transition to an "In-house" maintenance program with ETCOG.
